Review | Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen

Extra YarnDescription: Annebelle finds a box filled with yarn of every color and starts knitting sweaters and hats for everyone in her town. Her knitting becomes so popular and desired that an archduke from a faraway land must have Annebelle’s box of yarn, no matter what the cost.

Story: My daughter picked this one out from the library, and by the time I had renewed for the third and final time that the library allows, I decided we just had to have our own copy. Annebelle is a prococious and confident character who is committed to making the world a better place through her art. I love the lesson readers can learn from the greedy, Archduke.

Illustrations: Klassen is quickly becoming a favorite illustrator of mine for his fantastic pictures. His use of color in Extra Yarn adds wonderfully to the story.
