Review | Do You Know Which Ones Will Grow? by Susan A. Shea and Tom Slaughter

Do You Know Which Ones Will Grow?Description: This book compares living and inanimate objects by asking readers if they will or will not grow.

Story: There is not much of a story line to this book, as much as it simply asks readers if an item will grow or not. There is very clever rhyming text in the book and it teaches a great concept. I wish the book said more about why things do or don’t grow, but overall I think it’s a really wonderful, fun book to help teach the living/non-living principle to young children.

Illustrations: The illustrations in this book are very fun and interactive as they fold out to ‘grow’ the pictures.

Do You Know Which Ones Will Grow? is a nominee for the 2013 Utah’s Beehive Award which is given to books that motivate and inspire young people to read more.
